About Paul & Anne
Anne and Paul met while teaching art in Australia, at the
Newcastle Art School. Both have
had creative careers in the arts and were brought together by a shared love of
art, travel, work and coincidence.
California-born Paul studied psychology at university,
lived in the South Pacific as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Tonga, and worked
in New Zealand prior to migrating Down Under, where he also got a Master's
Degree in fine art. Anne
graduated at St. Albans School of Art and exhibited in her native London before
travelling through Europe, Asia, America and eventually moving to Australia.
Anne wanted to return to London and her family, and Paul
was attracted by the idea of living and working as an artist and musician in
the U.K. As their love grew, they
married and moved to North London in 2005.
Anne's love of painting is uppermost in her work, which features strong colours and narrative
figuration. She writes and illustrates children's books, which aim to teach aspects of spirituality. Paul's main passion is singing and song
writing, and he plays several instruments. His art uses stylised, narrative imagery and intense colour.
Though their styles are
different, the metaphorical and figurative qualities and imaginative
compositions work well together and reflect their creative zeal, telling
stories in each work and song.
Look forward to seeing you again soon
